Photographer Nate Holtberg recently shot some images for Busch beer with racer Kevin Harvick. Check out some of the final shots, behind the scenes and words from Nate himself!
“I was given detailed direction which laid a strong basis for the direction of the shoot. Overall though, it was a free flowing spontaneous adventure as we shot between and occasionally during rain showers. We embraced the ebb and flow of the day and left Concord, North Carolina with all the necessary pieces.
We shot on and around a vintage practice track in rural North Carolina, where character runs as deep as the cracks in the track. We were bombarded by the aggressive screams of engines and the welcomed smells of race fuel, rain on hot asphalt and autumn leaves. Smoke machines bellowed. Cars roared around the diminutive track. And the Commercial and photo crews worked efficiently and hastily while anticipating the inevitable and occasional rain delay.
Kevin Harvick was personable, easy going and seemed to enjoy every bit of the two day shoot. He joked freely with his pit crew, and pretty much everyone he made contact with. He graciously laughed at my dumb jokes and was relatively unself-concious throughout.”
